“Storms Make Trees Take Deeper Roots”
Legacy
The Kreiling Family Foundation was born of a lifetime of learning about doing for others. It offers an opportunity to provide a Legacy of Giving to future generations of Kreilings and beyond.
As children, founders John and Tracey Kreiling witnessed their parents and fellow community members sewing the seeds of generosity, through their giving spirits. Seeing the adults in their lives lead scout troops, help neighbors, welcome strangers to the table, volunteer in the community, make financial contributions and more, left an everlasting impact. As young adults, John and Tracey were both in need of and on the receiving end of support, generosity and kindness by others.
Over the years, even in the very hardest of times, the Kreilings felt compelled, through lessons they’d learned, to do what they could to help others.
At times it was volunteering at their children's schools, serving donuts at church, volunteering at charity events, coordinating disaster relief in several states, making a meal, participating in charity 5k’s, serving as scout leaders, assisting photographers capturing important moments in the lives of pediatric cancer patients, purchasing a box of legos or holiday gifts for kids in a hospital or donating a simple box of alca seltzer to a teacher for a class project.
It has meant walking beside a horse with a special needs child in the saddle, sitting in the dark on the night shift at a homeless shelter, carrying a poster in a protest, donating dollars to dress refugees for graduation. It can mean training for months to run a marathon for those who can’t walk, creating and managing a weekly fitness program for a school without funds for gym classes or flying to a different state to pick up a puppy for a child’s Last Wish.
Giving comes in infinite forms, saying “Yes” to those in need, is an important lesson the Kreilings learned and wish to pass along.
In this season of the journey, the Kreiling Family Foundation has become a terrific conduit to offer time, talents and dollars, to continue the Cycle of Giving. And as they saw growing up, there is always room for others. Please consider joining the Kreiling Family Foundation journey to sewing Seeds of Generosity.
